Canada Day in Rankin Inlet, NU

July 1, 2012
P15

It may be a small place that most Canadians don’t even know exists, but Rankin Inlet is proud to be Canadian!

I didn’t have my camera ready in time to snap the shiny fire truck, but this is a view of the parade from the inpatient unit at the health centre. There will be dancing, music, cardboard boat races, a ball-hockey tournament for the kids and lots more. Plus, we get tomorrow off of work and for the first time in a long time, that includes me.

I’m here for just 2 weeks but there are two holidays; next week is Nunavut Day – and the celebration will be even bigger.
