Happy blog birthday to Emergiblog, run by Kim, an ER nurse from San Fran. She just published a lovely Grand Rounds – and managed to include my “ Resident Physicans. Uh, What are Those?” post.
I am a female internist. And I have found out in my practice that, sometimes, even if you play God, there is a certain divine intervention which directs the destiny of each patient. Take for instance, this scenario. A 30 year old male comes to the emergency room with no cardiac rate, no BP, and you perform CPR, start on inotropics, do defibrillation for ventricular tachycardia. We manage the patient as case to case basis, but as doctors, we sit and wait… gritting our teeth… waiting when God plays his part. Coz, sometimes God works things in his own ways, and claims lives… in His time.
